Over this semester I have learned many new things about making global and local revisions while writing my papers. I have improved in many ways when it comes to revising my paper and can tell that I am a lot more confident on what to actually change when revising. This past semester I have learned what to really focus on how to narrow down certain claims I want in my paper. I also believe that while revising my rough drafts I was able to make my thesis stronger for my final draft. I think that putting the skills that I learned in class to work really paid off when completing my final draft.

When looking back and comparing my first draft of my significan writing piece : FIRST Draft Of Significant Writing Project to my final draft of my significant writing piece FINAL Draft of Significant Writing Project I notice how much I revised my papers to make my final one stronger. I went through and made sure that all of the claims in my writing related back to my thesis and the main idea of the prompt. If the claims did not I would remove them and use ones that better suit the point that I am trying to get across. I would also make sure that the quotes I was using throughout my paper were strong enough to back up what I was trying to say, and if they made sense to go where they were in the paper. I would move some quotes around that fit better in certain places, or even completely take a quote out and find one that fits better. I also made sure to check all of my spelling and grammar mistakes, and would ask my writing lab instructor to do so as well.  I think that when comparing my first draft to my final draft I am able to see and huge improvement in my overall writing.
